August 28, 200916 yr I can't input negativ Temperatures in the user defined weather section!Any ideas about this?Beside this no problems with ASAFSX Acceleration, Vista64FSUIPC registeredI have made a little trick to "solve" this problem:I have DL historic weather from january at a day were the temps were below zero.Than it is possible to have the negative TempI think the issue is related that in the Temps field are no other characters than numbers are allowed...?thanks, guenseliedit:I found too, that the Pressure seems to have an issue, too. When i wanted to type my pressure in (in mb) then it always jumps to 900 or 1200.What is that? anything wrong? August 28, 200916 yr Author next find: it is also not possible to insert numbers with commas into the visibility section.Ii is just taking whole numbers.Same trick here is to load the IMC weather file and then you can have the commas. And it is not possible to enter the zero!!! August 29, 200916 yr Hi,Clear out the temperature value in the Temperature box and then enter -#Pressure cannot be entered using millibars, but mm of Hg.Use fractions for the decimal equivalents.Zero was able to be entered for me for the visibility. This is with B433 of ASA.Thanks,
August 29, 200916 yr Author Hello,I forgot. I have also Build 433And I talk about the Wx Config section, just to avoid misunderstandings. Clear out the temperature value in the Temperature box and then enter -#When I klick at "edit layer" and try to insert a negativ temp, I can't do this.I can't enter the "-" or the "#"Nothing else than numbersPressure cannot be entered using millibars, but mm of Hg.I have tested it again:it doesn't matter if I enter in mb or inches.I can enter one number and when I want to enter the second number it jumps to 28.00 or 33.00In mb it jumps always to 900 or 1200Zero was able to be entered for me for the visibility. This is with B433 of ASA.Yes, zero entering is possible for me now, too.Don't know what happen yesterdayThere are some "bugs" left at the Wx Config section:Icing is not saved when the Metar will be saved.Same is with aplication range, cumulunimbus. Also the layers aren't saved. If I add a layer e.g. in 3000ft and save the file, the next time I load this saved file the layera are gone....could there be some failures with language versions of the OS? my version is german?thank you very muchguenter Guenter Steiner -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Betatester for: A2A, LORBY, FSR-Pillow Tester --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
August 30, 200916 yr Hi,It Could be the German settings. Switch to English just to try.1. For the temperature: clear out the value first then the - I used # to represent the number you are going to enter. Don't try to use #2. Pressure: It could be the decimal setting. I just entered 28.77 and it was OK.3. Only the METAR data is saved if you save the METAR and use it later. We cannot save all the data. If a cloud layer is a part of the METAR it will be saved for future use. Thanks,
August 30, 200916 yr Author Hello Jum,thanks for the reply!english or german version doesn't change anything... 1. For the temperature: clear out the value first then the - I used # to represent the number you are going to enter. Don't try to use #I have found out, that pressing "=" on my NUM block inserts a "-"With the normal "-" on my keyboard it is not possible.2. Pressure: It could be the decimal setting. I just entered 28.77 and it was OK.ok, I can enter 28.77, tooIt was my fault because I wanted to enter 27... Sorry was a kind of mixing up the unitsBUT: with mb it isn't possibleOr maybe I don't understand this kind of unit.Shouldn't it be the european standard e.g. 1013 mb???mm in hg is a very old unit which isn't used any more (exception switzerland)????3. Only the METAR data is saved if you save the METAR and use it later. We cannot save all the data. If a cloud layer is a part of the METAR it will be saved for future use.Ah, I understand. This is very odd, no chance to get this implemented?Thank you very much,Guenter Guenter Steiner -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Betatester for: A2A, LORBY, FSR-Pillow Tester --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
August 31, 200916 yr Hi,On a standard keyboard the - sign is on the key to the left of the += key.For pressure from the NOAA web site:30.16-Altimeter/Pressuresimply stands for Altimeter means 30.16 inches of mercury for the pressure. No, all we are able to save is the METAR data to reuse again. Thanks,
August 31, 200916 yr Author ok, thank you, Jim! Guenter Steiner -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Betatester for: A2A, LORBY, FSR-Pillow Tester --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
September 1, 200916 yr Author Sorry, I have to bring back this thread... I have some questions related to the suer defined weather section:As you stated above, it is NOT possible to save other temperatures as the surface temp?Sorry for asking again, but I was not sure if I have understood you correctly. Better asking twice....Background for my questioning:For testing purposes I'd like to have a set of weather conditions.1) a very cold day (-25C) with some clouds and cloud icing guaranteed2) a very hot day, no clouds (+40C)3) complete overcast, clouds in about 2000ft AGL, temp doesn't matter and visibility 0.1(!)smI can now apply the weather, but when I save it, e.g. the surface temps are still there, but above (3K, 6K, 9K etc) there are the standard temps (20,5C...)Other odd thing is that when you change the screen from WxConfig to e.g. map and back to WxConfig , also the most settings are goneSo, if you say this above weather settings couldn't be saved, I will understand and have to live with it.But if you see an way to manage this, please let me know!thanks for your patience Guenter Steiner -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Betatester for: A2A, LORBY, FSR-Pillow Tester --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
September 1, 200916 yr Hi,There is no way to store the layer data so you will need to edit that each time. All we can save is the METAR data. Thanks,
September 1, 200916 yr Author Ah, ok that is obvisously clear enough that even I understand this! :( Thanks for clarifying... due to language problems I wasn't sure if I have understood you in every point.Greetings,Guenter Guenter Steiner -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Betatester for: A2A, LORBY, FSR-Pillow Tester --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
