Clean Reinstall??

Featured Replies

I've just uninstalled FS202K..(again).due to problems mentioned on an earlier thread (Freezing splash screen).I uninstalled thru "Add/Remove" but looking in explorer, fs is still there..allthough gone from "Add/Remove..can I just delete all these folders, apart from some add-on planes I want to keep (move em to My Docs?).I must have a completely clean reinstall...to hopefully get rid of the prob.......the best way to do this please.......Thanks

What is left in explorer is what You've installed in to FS. I have personally had success reinstalling over those files, but I'd recomend backing them up incase any thing does go wrong.

Yes, they can, and should be, deleted. You can also just rename the old FS2002 main folder and then do the clean install in the normal manner. This will preserve the old, left-over stuff and and allow you to later copy back into the new install what you want to keep. But, don't do the new install over the top of the left-overs - that may just cause the problem to reappear. Doug
