September 7, 200916 yr According to the manual....Before ground-start the propeller must be on the start latches. If the start latches are not engaged the unfeather pump is used to put the propeller on the start latches. The procedure for this is to put the POWER lever in the REVerse position and operate the unfeather pump switch. On the ground the pumps are controlled manually with an UNFEATHER pump switch. The switch has three positions and is spring loaded to the center OFF position. The switch is installed on the lower centre console and gives selection for the Left or Right unfeather pumps. My question is....Is there any audio que that lets you know that the start locks/latches are engaged, like ther is when they are released? Is the correct way to set up for engine start if you are unsure if the locks are engaged or not to pull the power levers back into full reverse, trip the unfeather pump switch both left and right and then move the power levers back forward 3/4" after the REV lights extinguish? I am also assuming the condition levers remain in the TAXI position throughout this operation?I have been trying to start the engines from what I believe is a Cold and Dark condition (By loading the default Cessna 172 powering it down then selecting the J41 from the in game menu and powering down all of the panels)When I try to do it like this the engines just seem to spool up but dont ignite (sorry for the lack of proper termanology) The master starter swich eventually springs back to air position and the engine winds back down. I suspect that I have not been getting the engines on the start latches, hence this post. EGT, fuel pressure and other start pre-requisits/ procedures were checked. Thanks for any assistance,RE ThomasonI am able to stop and restart using the pinned Engine start and Shut down video as a guide (thanks to the author for the video!) just cant seem to get them started any other way.PS. I really hope you will consider a saved panel state feature or at least a Cold and Dark panel option in any future update. Love the plane! Thanks for making a smaller regional turboprop I can now look to finally retire my F1 ATR.RE Thomason

September 7, 200916 yr There is no audio cue, you look out the window. If the locks haven't engaged the props will be feathered. If they have, they'll be in full fine.Have a look at this thread, which explains how to get them engaged if they didn't at shutdown, plus some pictures.
September 7, 200916 yr Yep, got it now. I see the sticky on this up at the top of the forum...don't know how I missed this but found the subject in the 500+ page manual :( Anyway, good stuff thanks for the help, looks like I am about to start learning the FMS.
