  1. There is another, similar, large scale search underway as well. For those interested in more information, this may be a good starting point.
  2. I believe Boeing lists the typical CI for the MD-11 pax at 80.
  3. Thank you for the responses guys, but info I already knew. Unfortunately, this is an issue of client software detecting my speed over the 250kts limit and it is hard coded. I take a penalty each time - no way around it unless I keep the bird under speed.Main reason for the post is to ascertain if I am doing something wrong - why the restriction shows in teh FMS, but it's not being followed by the autoflight. I'm just not familiar enough with the "Vertical Revisions" page to be sure I'm verifying that the entry i mentioned is a hard restriction. I'm unable to find anything on the subject in the manual, or online thus far.Thank you,Steven Letcher
  4. Did my first flight in the MD-11 in a long while last night (J41 been eating all my flight sim time hehe). I am in a VA, and there is a hard capped limit on speed below FL100 of 250kts. In the MD-11 FMS, on the flight plan page, clicking on a climb-out fix it shows the vertical revisions page. On the right hand side it shows a 250kts restriction below FL100, yet when I fly the takeoff (using autoflight) the plane still accelerates past this limit. The flight plan page does show the computer predicting the speed as over the 250kts as well.I realize that the plane wants to go faster than 250kts when I'm loaded heavy for the optimum angle and all, but should it not still adhere to the restriction? I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but damned if I can find an answer searching these forums, or the manual. Any advice would be appreciated.Thank You,Steven Letcher
  5. Use the right LSK's to highlight the way point you want to erase, then use the "Back" button on the FMC. An "Erase?" message appears, then hit the "Enter" key on the keypad. Way point is deleted. Pressing the "Q" key on your computers keyboard twice will typically fix any missing / wrong sounds after swapping internal / external views. I don't think it's possible, but perhaps someone with more experience will have a solution.
  6. Just noticed the flightsim.com part! Thank you for your work Dan.EDITED
  7. Great stuff! Looking forward to seeing your code for the .cfg file.
  8. Your not doing anything wrong, that's all it will do unfortunately. There is another thread floating around here with some great ideas to map the F2 button, but unable to locate it atm to link it for ya.
  9. My wife believes this is HER job, but she does not fly with me. Something about a an expensive, time consuming...
  10. The last ones I posted are missing as well. <shrug> Avsim forums deff NOT known for reliability / being bug free.
  11. He edited his post to add that after I posted :-)Stop / start / stop / start / stop.. where was I again?
  12. Depends on what you want to use the monitor for. 1080P / 720P ect. are for televisions. They use a 16:9 aspect ratio. Movies are typically made with this ratio in mind (though it is changing all over the map the last couple years) 120hz is for 24fps video playback.59/60 hz refresh is standard for a computer monitor. They typically use a 16:10 aspect ratio. Computer games are usually made with this ratio in mind. Widescreen LCD Monitor mid range is typically 21-22".
  13. Check this threadhttp://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=259858
  14. Yup, but it has native widescreen 2D panel - no need to "suffer" with VC :(
  15. And MAKE SURE the stop locks are engaged first! :(
  16. Look at everything that is supposed to be a circle, they are actually ovals. Everything is stretched out length-wise. Or actually - Don't look at it ehhe, if you haven't noticed, you'll enjoy it more by avoiding noticing now!
  17. Nope There isn't any. Just have to use "save flight"
  18. No If you have tool tips on, you can mouse over the feather / unfeather swith (just behind the throttle) and it will tell you which state it is in. Yes Improper shutdown of the engines (when engine stops used, you need to pull back on the power lever after the engine rpm gets below 50% to set the locks.)
  19. No additional software needed. If you use VC only, 747, MD-11 and J41 will all work great. If you are a 2D panel user, the 747 2D panel will work, but be distored. MD-11 2D panel has a widescreen version (option in config manager). J41 has no 2D option at all.Widescreen is deff the way to go if buying a new monitor!
  20. Check this thread.http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=259813Getting the locks removed requires more back motion than the throttle axis assignment allows on it's own.
  21. At .50 Zoom level - all relevent stuff on screen, good perspective, but text way to small. At .70 Zoom level - most relevent info on screen, less windscreen view, but text still a bit to small.I have manually altered the aircraft config file to adjust the defaults.Edit: Bleh - I got my taskbar up in the second one covering some of it, heh - noob.
  22. Is there a default way to take Screen shots in FSX? I hit my prt scr button and it seemed to take one, but if it did, I cannot find the file anywhere lol.Steven Letcher
  23. Yeah, you are using 4:3 aspect ratio monitor. With 16:10 you can actually see the gauges for Torque, EGT, and RPM of the port side engine. I'll see if I can get into the sim and tale a SS to post here for comparison. Never tried a screenie in FSX. http://www.fsdeveloper.com/wiki/index.php?...e_cameras_viewshttp://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc526984.aspxSteven Letcher
  24. I'm curious to see your SS of the J41. It would seem you are using a 4:3 monitor though, yes? 16:10 (widescreen) means a higher resolution, and thus smaller text at than what you are seeing / using at the default zoom.Steven Letcher
