hi all figured most things out now etc on how to start etc, but now this the changing of alt eg lets say my first weigh point is set at 3000. i line up on rwy set hdg and alt sel on the flight director i take off rwy heading retract gear flaps etc than i set my ap to maintain rwy heading than i select nav on the flight director which than turn the aircraft to my program course. plane climbs to 3000 and holds it till 1st weigh point, my next weigh point is say 16000 this is where i get confused. since looks like i doing some thing wrong. i set the alt to 16000 than i press alt sel thinking it shud climb to 16000 but nothing happen it stays at 3000 some times it descends so obviously iam missing something i set my fms correctly to the alt etc like next weigh point i shud be at 16000 i have same problem in decending as well. i tried the v/s option that works but trying to figure out the alt sel option. i know u can select the 16000 first than climbs to 16000 but was wondering on how to comand the plane to climb like other pmdg aircaft eg md 11 and 747

The J41 does not have VNAV, so the FMS will not control the vertical profile of your flight path.Use ALT SEL in conjunction with VS or IAS. With VS you control your vertical speed by rolling the thumb dial on the center console. With IAS you need to manually pitch the airplane to the desired speed, trim the airplane, then select IAS on the flight director. Please consult page 79 or the PMDG_J41_Pilot_Tutorial.
