September 8, 200916 yr Occasionally, I tend to practice my engine out landings. While in the air, I would bring the control levers all the way back, resulting in the inevitable engine fire.I flip on both extinguishers, for the left and right engines. I would use one bottle for each engine, and then use the other. For some reason, only one engine extinguishes, and it's always the one which I had deployed the bottles on first.Any ideas? Erik L.
September 8, 200916 yr Erik,There are only two fire extinguishers. If you hit "Shot 1" for the left engine, you're actuating the first bottle. Hitting "Shot 2" for the left engine will discharge the second bottle. After this, there is no more agent left.If you want to put out two engine fires, you have to use Shot 1 for one engine and Shot 2 for the other. Even then, sometimes one bottle isn't enough.Might I suggest simply pulling the desired Condition lever back to FEATHER/CUTOFF instead?Regards,Nick

The model is working as it should. :( George Morris
September 8, 200916 yr Author Thank you for the reply Nick. I will try that as soon as I can. Also, I had the throttles at near max and the EGT was a little below the limit and I simply set the condition levers to TAXI.Would pulling the power all the way back and Feathering/Cutting off the condition levers turn off the engines completely? I may as well try that since I could re-use the engines after, hopefully, touching down safely. Erik L.
September 8, 200916 yr Erik,Yes, push the appropriate latch release button below the Condition lever, then pull the lever all the way aft into FEATHER/CUTOFF.This will close the fuel and hydraulic shutoff valves, shutdown the engine and feather the prop. All you'll need to do is move the Condition lever back to TAXI, unfeather the prop with the unfeathering pump and you'll be god to go again.Regards,Nick
