SSW A310

Featured Replies

After returning from an FS hiatus I saw that the developer's website does not exist anymore. I am looking for the 1.5 upgrade, does anyone have it in their hanger? -JonKo.

Before you took a break did you get a chance to try this version? I had it and it was still riddled with bugs. The VC remained non-clickable, starting a flight was fine but it was a crap shoot depending on the autopilot to get you there and not crap out on you, and ILS worked 50% of the time. This could have been a classic add-on but the ball was dropped in completing the product. I don't know if you were aware or not if all got fixed because it didn't. I may have the old installer I'll check. Just the same it's official we have no real A310 simulation in FS. SSW could have at least released the code for others to build on. This add-on could have been stellar easily on the level of Leonardo's MD-80 effort.

I did not get to try out 1.5, but I assume there is some improvement over my deprecated version (1.2 or 1.3). I agree the addon had a lot of potential and all the basics for a competitive addon in even 09's market are there. I wish they had made the finishing effort back in the day because it looks like developer's nowaday are focused on developing the newer generation of airbus and boeing aircraft, putting the odds of a realistic simulation of the A310 very low. As for the code, interesting thought. Seeing as they totally took down the website, there's no way to find out. I wish the developers still had some form of contact available. I want to give the updated version a try regardless to recreate some JFK to PRG memories, in the hopes also the the flight dynamics have improved as well.-JonKo
