September 11, 200916 yr I am trying to figure out what happened here, I departed from RJBB in my cargo MD-11 and 3 hours later over the pacfic I encountered sevure thunder storms and then the stick shakker started going off and the slats lowered for stall protection, so I started a decent and sudden all 3 engines flamed out, I had ianti ice on before this happened I stilll had control of the aircraft, I guess the windmilling engines still powered the hydraulic pumps so I diden't deploy the RAT, restart was sucessful, but the aircraft suddenly lacked power even though all engines were turning the aircraft felt very underpowered iven with auto throttle disconneted I struggled to maintain even 20,000 feet, is this a program flaw? I had to just abort the flight as a 10 hour flight at 15,000 just wasen't going to cut it.What happened here?Michael Pare. Michael Pare Extreme Boeing 737NG fanatic
September 11, 200916 yr Which Weather program were you using if any? Online on Vatsim/IVAO or offline? What location in the world?FSinn sometimes makes the weather do very strange things at high altitude. usually to do with the temperature at high altitude being way too high, perhaps as much as 100 degrees celcius above what it should be.Active Sky Advanced has also been giving some very strange QNH's in some areas. I'v seen QNH values as wierd as 729 on occasion in places like Indonesia and Afganistan, there might be other areas also reporting wierd things. That's my initial ideas from experience. May not be right, but that's what I'd look out for first. Re: FSinn, disable vatsim weather perminantly in the options of the program. As for ActiveSky Advanced, I got no idea, apparently it's been bought up in their forums and is being looked at, could be something to do with bad weather feeds from the real world.
