September 14, 200916 yr Whenever I try to load a saved file, Radar Contact reports that it cannot load the saved file. When I click on 'Load Previously Saved .RCD's' I see a progress bar. This seems to start and stick at about 10% for a while. Next it moves up to about 90% and halts. An error dialog tells me the flight cannot be loaded. If Radar Contact is minimized and the flight continued then Radar Contact starts at the correct point in time. This happens every time.I had thought it was caused by my creaking Dell XPS700 running XP but Dell replaced that under warranty with a XPS730 running Vista. I wondered if it might be the Level-D 763 but now I'm flying the RealAir Duke and I'm still seeing this wrong error message. This isn't a problem for me as I know to ignore the message but I thought I would share the work-around for anyone who has the same problem.Stephen

September 14, 200916 yr who is displaying the error message? there may be an issue trying to load a .rcd from one plane and load it with another plane. but that would be the ms fs error, which is normal. Here is an example. I started FSX and loaded a flight I did yesterday. Specifically, I used 'Load Flight' to load the flight files with the name, "Duke KSTL KBNA 03 Festus MO". The flight loaded perfectly as expected.I started RC and clicked 'Load Previously Saved .RCD's' with the file "Duke KSTL KBNA 03 Festus MO.rcd"The behavior described in my post was observed and produced the Radar Contact error message shown in the attached screen shot. Yesterday, I continued to fly the remaining hour of this ninety minute flight and saw no problems that might have been caused by the alleged absence of the .flt file. Oh, and I've not flown anything other than the RealAir Duke for over a month so there's no way I could have mixed planes.

As soon as I hit 'P' that plane is flying from the point at which I saved it. Radar Contact is also running in spite of the erroneous error message. It looks to me as if all the files are found and correctly loaded. If the .FLT file were not loaded into RC then I imagine RC would be very confused and I have not seen that.

For Vista, these are two mapped paths that point to the same directory. This is just a Vista thing. RC used to misbehave in the same fashion on my old XP. I can't give you any screen shots from that as I no longer have it.

This is the common factor between this Vista system and my old XP system. All of 'my' files are kept where 'I' want them to be which is in a single folder that gets automatically backed up every day.
