September 26, 200916 yr I started a flight this morning, Adelaide to Melbourne 0550 local time and saw what i thought was rain on the windscreen, yet wondering why i couldnt hear the drops.Turns out it wasnt rain, but snow, in ADELAIDE!!!#####?Just thought for those living in that part of the world you might find it interesting. For those who dont live in that part of the world, well it would be like a 50 degree heatwave in Greenland.METAR was 260209Z.Andy
September 26, 200916 yr Author METAR string was 20090926-07Z.datThe data in the METAR is as follows: YPAD 260000Z 22021KT 9999 FEW027 BKN110 FEW040TCU 12/06 Q1014 INTER 0000/0300 5000 SHRAGS FEW018 BKN030.However i was departing at 0550 local so outside the INTER with the data string SHRAGS. The 'GS' is small hail or snow pellets, so i gather FS9 cant replicate small hail, so would just throw in the snow, im assuming. Not complaining, just found it amusing!Andy
September 26, 200916 yr Author And as a footnote, ive tried 3 flights with this weather data, 2 from Adelaide 1 from Melbourne, and i get a CTD every time.Go back to a previous saved weather, no problem. So there is something in that weather data file ( 20090926-07Z.dat ) that ASV6.5 doesnt like.Cheers, Andy
