September 26, 200916 yr Hi there, I was wondering why my aircraft engine-sounds in FSX pulse rather than being a steady level sound? It really sounds terrible. Anybody help with this?I have a Soundblaster Xtreme Audio card am using Windows 7 RTM,have 4gig of ram and Radeon HD 4890video card with 1gig on board. Thanks for any help. regardsRichard
September 26, 200916 yr Richard,It's because the engine sound is a short wave file of a second or two played over and over again. With some systems, you can hardly hear the joins but on others, it can be more noticable. Sometimes if you reduce the sound quality, it becomes less apparent.IAN Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)
September 26, 200916 yr You can fix it by downloading other soundsets or finding a similar sound in one the other sound folders you have. For example the wind sound for an Airbus CFM56 soundset was terrible so I replaced it with the wind sound I found in a PW soundset. Dont forget to rename if the name is different :(
