September 29, 200916 yr Hi folks. I am new to AVSIM. I use both FS9 and FSX regularly. It appears that a lot of airports, VORs, NDBs and STARS n SIDS that are available in the FSX do not exist in FS9. This shows up (not in database) when one progarms the FMC in FS9. I had read somewhere that one can get to the CONGIF file in FS9 and insert all of the above and more. Can someone please tell me how this is done? Thanks muchHKGSimmer
September 29, 200916 yr I'm not sure I understand you well, especially this: one can get to the CONGIF file in FS9 and insert all of the above and moreBut if you mean updating the navigational data in your FS9, there is no simple freeware one-copy-and-paste method. And it depends on the navigational device you're using. If it's a payware addon aircraft with a fully working FMC, it may have the data in a different formant than another.Go to the Navigraph site and see what is supported. If something is there it means you will get current AIRAC each month.http://www.navigraph.com/www/fmsdata.aspHowever this service is paid.I'm not using FSX but it's a newer flightsim, so I guess its default navdata is also later than FS9's. Hence the difference (missing navaids) you see. However if you mean the default nav database only, it can hardly be done. MFS didn't give us any easy tool to update its internal data. There was a discussion somewhere here some time ago about some ideas to do it. Do a search then, however it was rather about possible plans than ready files.
September 29, 200916 yr Thanks Rafal. Yes I got it wrong. Need to insert and update Navdata and not the Config file.I will do as you direct and go to the Navigraph website and update.BestHKGSimmer
