You may change the color of the inland water in REX :(You have two categories in REX - Inland blue and Inland brown - you can't replace a blue texture with a brown one, at least in their interface. Believe me, I looked. If someone can tell me the file names of these textures within the FSX file structure, that would be helpful. I could copy and rename a blue one.

I didn't get your point.You may change the brown color to a dark green color by altering Plankton, Saturation and Brightness.Have you tried add on landclass (waterclass)? Most rivers ain't blue. Look at google earth photos. Do you have any specific river in mind?
