October 7, 200916 yr Commercial Member The 777 has a system called 'Tac' (thrust asymmetry compensation) If the aircraft has an engine failure on T/O the system automatically compensate's the yaw even with the autopilot disconnected. The real MD11 has Parallel Rudder that does the same thing during Go-Around with an engine out. I dont have access to my sim for the next two weeks, is this Simulated in the PMDG bird?RegardsRobert Prest Rob Prest
October 7, 200916 yr Been a while since I've dona an EO GA in the MD. I'll look into it next time.FYI, TAC doesn't add all the rudder required. Boeing's philosophy is that the pilot should still have positive control of the aircraft, and so TAC only gives 80-90% of the required rudder input. Now I've never flown the 777, but it seems like they left out just enough so your leg doesn't get tired, and you needn't spend the whole day trying to get the trim just right.Paul
