Updating your vid card BIOS

Featured Replies

Was just wondering, if anybody has updated their nVidia GTX285's BIOS? I thought to try a search to see if there is even an updated BIOS firmware download 'out there'....If somebody in fact already has, did you find any advantages in performance by doing so?I did one years ago on an AGP card, and in that regard it proved to be quite advantageous. POST EDIT:Hmmm...seems there are ALL SORTS of custom and 'hot' 285 BIOS out there. Also, here is a post that somebody thinks they can flash a GTX275, to become a GTX285 in performance....From a Dutch forum:Apparently it is possible to Bios flash the Asus ENGTX275 to a GTX285. The 285 uses PCB 897 the 275 uses PCB 654.After flashing; apparently not only does GPU-Z indicate 1gb ram and 512 bit (as it would do becasue it reads the BIOS data), but the throughput also apparently increases from 127 gb per sec to 159 gb.Any news on this? Can someone with an Asus ENGTX275 check their card? PCB# and present memory chips?http://www.hardware.info/forum/showthread....5101&page=2 This, for any Dutch-Speaking AVSIM Homey.
