Hello,If you experience problems with the default DC3 panel .. you have the option to download and install some other freeware DC3 panels and test them.

FS2004 1930's Douglas DC-3 Panel Package[ Download | View ] Name: dc3jcu12.zip Size: 2,040,075 Date: 11-22-2007 Downloads: 2,752 FS2004 1930's Douglas DC-3 Panel Package. This panel is basically photographic, using photos by the author, with yokes and Sperry photos by "Ralf B.". It is ADF only, as that's all pilots had back then. The package includes a photographic virtual panel, pop-up yokes, and a cabin photographed by Ben Wang, and populated by folks like Bogart and Bacall, Gary Cooper, etc. The overhead radios are graphics only, but digital tuners are built in, so they can be tuned. There are also pop-up radios with a modern AP (by Ernie Kennedy), as the Sperry is a photo only and not usable. However the engine emergency off and feather switches (by Andreas Jaros) do work, if the aircraft you use supports these features. Many of the gauges are default, including the workable ignition switches. The auther has re-painted some gauges to make them more like the 1930's. By James Underwood.

thanks belga.but i dont have problem with the default panel.i just can't figure out how to hold altitude for long terms in the dc-3..

If you really want a DC3 plane/panel search Charles E. Owen or maybe you can file dc3cv1.zip at flightsim.com. Many types of failures possible at random and failures due to improper handling. These include hydraulic leaks, fuel leaks, mag failures, of course engine failures/fires, among many others. He's programed in prop icing and airframe icing. Very good FDE, e.g. cowl flaps affect performance. Unbelivable program.db.

Hi,You can always try pressing Ctrl Z when the autopilot is turned on. That's the keystroke for Altitude Hold. It may not work (depending on the autopilot section of the plane's aircraft.cfg file), but it's worth a try.Hope this helps,

I fly the MOST EXCELLENT Mid Atlanic Air museums DC3/RD4 simulation and it does the same thing. This is because the DC3's autopilot is an Attitude (pitch) hold not an alttitiude hold autopilot. So changes in head wind and airspeed will cause the plane to climb or descend. The best you can do is trim the throttles and pitch as best you can to get it to level at altitude before you engage the auto pilot. You may have to trim the throttles more after the pitch hold is activated, that is increase power if the plane descends, and reduce power if she climbs. That is how they did it in the old days. No time for naps back then!
