First, try alt-enter. Next, this is a well known FSX/video driver issue. Well documented both here and in the FSX forum. Try doing a search and you will find lots of information.

What video card/driver do you have? When I had this problem with an ATI card I had to go back a few versions of driver to get it to work. This is not PMDG problem. It is a video driver and FS issue. So yes you may have to try a different driver. You can try searching again for your particular video card.
