Cockpit vs Spot View Sounds

Featured Replies

HiThe difference in hearing outside sounds being in the cockpit and in Spot View is quite considerable. I'm sure it's designed to reflect wearing sound-reducing headsets, but is there a simple way of altering the parameters? I'd prefer to be to hear more engine sounds (that is, more AI engine sounds) than at present while in the cockpit.CheersDel

Can I assume that the lack of response is a big "NO"? Just%20Kidding.gif

All I can think of is using the Sound configurator in FSX which allows you to reduce or enhance Cockpit, engine, ATC etc. I tend to have Environment set high especially for Outside View.Does this help at all or am I on the wrong track?

That can help a bit, but for good, solid audio remix, you have to reprogram FSX. It is do-able, but not for the average or even many above-average users. FSX uses a system of "sound cones" that are designed to emulate a dynamic surround sound environment. This is way different from FS9. Unfortunately, the system isn't all that intuitive. When it works, it's great, but when there are problems, it's really hard to fix, if not near impossible.Jeff ShylukSenior Staff ReviewerAVSIM
