Has it resolved all the scenery problems like UK2000? Hesitating to re-update until i am sure all my current addons (all P3D v3 compliant) will not be adversely affected.

How do i adjust the graphics so that in daytime the sea is not a white shiny texture? Current settings are all on Ultra and Anisotropic and anti aliasing ticked to max. It appears almost the same if I switch off those 2 settings. The sea is just way too bright in daylight, but tones down obviously at dusk, but is still way too bright in my current set up. Are you also reviewing the current darkness of the autogen and ground?

I have had to redo some Profiles but i cannot get SimStarter to stop loading a flight. I want the sim to open up on the Scenario page but SimStarter is opening P3D and loading a flight. My previous Profiles were set where although i had entered into SStarter a default flight it would open P3D on the Scenario page with my default flight airport in the Scenario page. I have ticked for Show scenario in the SStarter General settings, but when I click on my profile shortcut it changes the P3D cfg to show this. [uSERINTERFACE] SHOW_SCENARIO_WINDOW=0 I have tried changing the SHOW_SCENARIO_WINDOW=0 to SHOW_SCENARIO_WINDOW=1and saving but SStarter keeps changing it to 0 again. What part of my Profile do I need to change to ensure that P3D via SStarter does not start loading a flight and that I get onto the Scenario page opening up?

So they do not go outside of P3D as has been reported. I assume therefore that certain addons must go into P3D direct and "others" do not have too. Same as before, as i have many scenery addons like UK2000 airfields which I have outside of P3D on a separate SSD. Did that by installing into P3D then moving them to the other SSD and changing the path in the scenery cfg.

Regarding my post earlier i see on the ORBX forum that in answer to a question regarding SSD space: "I had v2 away from the operating system on it's own 750gb SSD. When installing some addons they also needed to go into the main Prepar3d folder.(ORBX addons a good example) I have seen that EVERYTHING 3rd party now needs to be installed away from the main Prepar3d folder." The response from ORBX was: "No, that is not correct. Only some of the configuration files have moved away from the main folders. Orbx, 3rd Party Aircraft, Scenery, AI, etc all still install to the Prepar3d directory like P3D v1/2 and MSFS." So now I am confused !!

Very interesting and something I had been hoping would be possible, regarding scenery addons being outside of the P3D folder. In theory then, if one has P3D v2.5 on a seperate SSD and then installed v3 onto another SSD, could you not take the current v2.5 scenery cfg ( Terrain cfg?) and place it into v3, ensuring the "entries" in the cfg are showing the correct path, and all your v2.5 scenery should be available in v3? This is just a theory as i would not wish to break any EULA and am quite willing to wait for v3 installers. My question though is what will the new v3 installers do, as they have traditionally sought the P3D folder in order to install directly into it. Now the addons will not go into P3D v3 but sit outside of the folder in either the same drive or a separate drive. Will they now just check for which drive you want to install the addons to and only adjust the Scenery cfg accordingly?

@gboz...... No I am not sure either but it did ! I think my problem may have had something to do with Fixer, although prior to uninstalling it I did do the click on the flight loading screen and it worked. After that I reinstalled Fixer and i have not had to click the flight loading screen since, it loads in fullscreen automatically. Are you just interested in the "why it works" or have you had a similar problem?

Ron I cannot thank you enough for realising you were having a "senior moment"!! During the flight loading I clicked the black screen and BINGO I am now in full screen. I have done this twice now so am confident it will carry on working. ebo77.. thanks for your input too. I have just reinstalled Fixer and the cfg is somewhat similar to yours in the relevant sections. Once again all, many may thanks for your perseverance in trying to assist me. I click the FSX shortcut a blue FSX loading box appears, I click on the desktop but I see no black box to maximise. The loading blue revolving wheel appears and I cannot move the loading box to see if there is a black box behind it.

Hi Ron .. just to clarify what you are suggesting..... what do you mean when FSX is loading? Are you talking about loading a flight or just starting up the FSX program? Also are you saying to click full windowed mode after flight has loaded and then go to the Views option at the top of the screen ( alt key) Sorry to sound dumb but just want clarification. At his very moment I have just clicked on DX10 preview and will fire up FSX after your reply. Many thanks

I am still having the problem I mentioned in my post above. Can anyone help me? My FSX cfg shows 1920 X1080, my setting in Display in FSX is set at 1920x1080. I have tried every known method, alt/enter, trying to change View to full screen when FSX is running. Have changed my nvidia control panel setting to No Scaling from Fullscreen, but no way will it give me fullscreen. I have tried the Pseudo fullscreen application but do not like it. I must be missing something since my fresh install that was there in my old install. I use DX10 fixer.

It is driving me mad, especially as i did not have this problem before when playing FSX on the old HDD. Yes the view change works in DX9 but I cannot work out why it doesn't in DX10 when it did work fine before. Can someone make my day and offer a fix for this please? By the way I use GFX 780 GPU.

Thanks for the links. I have tried all those type of suggestions to no avail. I am almost googled out looking for a solution ! It worked fine before so it must be a setting somewhere as it works OK in DX9.

I get that problem too but you need to the following: hit your ALT tab and unclick in Views "full screen", this is when my screen goes black. I then hit ALT-Control Delete to bring up Task manager. At this point you should get back the FSX screen in windowed mode. I then close Task Manager. Returning too Full screen Hope I explained this OK, if not I will try again !

A clear winner ? No ........., it would be personal preference in the end. I have all 3 over the last few years and have settled for Ultimate Traffic. With My Traffic I found an annoying feature which put me off, and that was I would get for example Bangladeshi air inter-city hoppers appearing in places like New Mexico! Default My Traffic was also US loaded but relatively much lower European coverage. I am only talking about default settings from the box here. No tweaking the programme to add flights etc.Traffic X I liked but it was more European loaded but relativley low US coverage. Ult Traffic has good accurate coverage for all the world both GS and airline plus decent models and it works outside of FSX.So my current set up is Ultimate traffic for airlines and GA, Traffic X military packs for military flights and I also use the Traffic X voices.gvp file in my Sound-ATC folder in FSX. This combo gives me all the GA, airlines and military flights worldwide. The Traffic x sound file in my ATC folder gives me the different accents (US, European and UK accents)for ATC.

Would anyone be able to help me please regarding how to turn and stop in a float plane ! Rudder has hardly any effect and braking does nothing. Another question.... is there a way of stopping my Aerosoft Twotter from speeding of down the runway without me having touched the throttle. I have a couple of payware planes that seem to set to start rolling immediately rather than remaining stationary until throttled up.Appreciate any help.Regards

I currently have technical query over at Orbx regarding the detrimental performance at one of their scenery airports when I have my Special Effects Detail set to my normal setting of Mid to Full. I started getting 9fps and stuttering versus normal 30fps smooth. When i reduced the Special Effects to far left "low" I was back to 30fps smooth again.My question is: can anyone of you who know the in's and outs of FSX tell me what this slider actually effects. I know it effects wave motion & fireworks but is that it ? I notice that on Low setting I still see smoke from cooling towers etc. Also are these files in the regular FSX "Effects" folder. My confusion is to what effects are governed by "Effects" versus those "effects" that appear when the Scenery Complexity slider is set to norm/max.Would be grateful for any feed back.
