Aircraft lights do not work correctly in FS9

Featured Replies

Hi all,It was recommended that I come to this particular forum for help. Here is my previous thread: http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=264622Anyways, None of the lights for any of my aircraft work correctly. Even the lights for the default aircraft are messed up. It seems only the panel and landing lights work correctly. The beacon, nav, and strobes do NOT work correctly.Strangely enough, at night, it seems that the nav lights are actually illuminating from inside the wings themselves. I can also see the beacon flashing, except it's flashing from inside the tail! I have no idea what the cause of this is.Also, it seems that the lights do work correctly from the tower view at night, but in spot plane mode they go back to the way I described above.I've had everything installed for quiet sometime and I don't want to reinstall FS (so many add ons need to be reinstalled). Except for this light problem that popped up , I have the FS exactly the way I want it. I even uninstalled/reinstalled the payware aircraft, but that didn't do anything. Did a cfg file get messed up somehow? Thanks for your help. Here's a screenshot of the problem:http://s295.photobucket.com/albums/mm141/r...current=www.jpgAll of the lights are on, and you can clearly see that the nav lights are sunken into the aircraft wing, and the tail section is red because of the beacon (it's flashing from within the tail). You can also see there are no strobes present because they don't work.

Post the lights section of the aircraft cfg file, use the default 737 and I'll take a look at it, might spot something.Douglasbtw; if you installed some addon that had a global effect on your aircraft it might explain how All the lights are messed up. just a thought.

Im having exactlty the same problem. Did anyone come up with a fix. The only thing I have installed recently is the Wilco ERJ v2.

Even the lights for the default aircraft are messed up. It seems only the panel and landing lights work correctly. The beacon, nav, and strobes do NOT work correctly.
If it has been working OK before, and you haven't installed a new video card/driver of have changed your video settings, the most plausible reason is that you installed some addon that has overwritten default .fx file with "better :-(" ones. And if that's the cause, uninstalling such an addon won't help because that won't re-install the original files.Rob
