I noticed a common thread running through almost all of the posts that I read and that was that almost all of the people using these new very fast computers were also using the high end Nvidia cards instead of the high end ATI cards. My present computer is using a pretty good ATI HD 3870 card because my computer builder said that it was the most compatible with my Mac 32 inch monitor. The plan for my new computer is to use and ATI HD 5850 card, but seeing that so many people are using the end NVIDIA card makes me a bit nervous. Are my fears justified or do most of you think that I will be fine using the ATI card.I am planning to use and I7 processor 950 variety, overclocked, 12 gigs of memory, the ATI HD 5850 and other accoutrements deemed correct and suitable by my computer store. What advice do you wizards of the ether have on the subject.I await any and all sage advice. Cheers to all and thanks for any help on the subject!Dorn

It's hard to say what one is "better" as both are "hi-end" machines. Nvidia's cards are the top sellers but ATI's cards Seem to give one more bang for the buck. As you might know Flight Sim is very dependent on one's CPU so keep that in mind when putting together you new system, plus Fs10 is now a "older" peace of coding that does not really use much of direct X 10's coding let alone DirectX 11. Please note both cards run the sim very well BTW. Keep in mind that Nvidia's cards are now a generation out of date in reguards to DirectX 11 so it you want to run any DirectX11 apps in the future you would be out of luck with the present generation of Nvidia cards.Hope the above is of some help to you.Dan Martin Flight Ontario
