Minimum Surface Visibility

Featured Replies

Hi everybody,I'm using ASA 433 with FS9.1. In the section Visibility Options I reduced the Minimum Surface Visibility to "0".So far so good. Recently I came across some METARs with Vis=0, Fairbanks encountered these conditions a couple of days before. This spoils the depiction of my VC, at least with Level-D 767. I can't see a thing in my own cockpit...Is there any way to increase the min surf vis without using the "huge" step to 1 mile? Perhaps something like 0.1 nm? I know there is an option within fsuipc, but everyone recommends to leave fsuipc as it is without touching the default settings, especially when it comes to weather cfg.Increasing the vis to 1nm within ASA gives such a huge step that CATII or CATIII approaches are not CATIII any more...

Hi Steve,No sorry, that slider does go from zero to 1, but that slider does not actually set visibility. The visibility is set from the METAR from the real time data or from weather you set up on the Wx Config screen. So leave that slider at zero. If you set it to one, that would mean you would never get visibility less than a mile, even if the data showed otherwise. Thanks,

OK, thanks. Then I'll have to live with that. It's just because I encountered 0 visibility twice within one week, and both times my VC simply vanished. Therefore I increased the minimum to 1 - even if I spoiled actual 0.25 with it.I think that could be interesting for one of the following updates, having the option to set the minimum to, let's say 0.1nm to get rid of the 0nm issue.
