Windows 7

Featured Replies

For the last couple of days I've been trying to resolve a network issue with Win7. Seems my ASUS P6T deluxe v2 and its 2x Marvell: Yukon Gigabit Ethernet Controllers don't play so nice with 7. On just about every reboot I lose connection despite both controllers appearing in the device manager as being fine. The message I get in the windows taskbar is "A network cable is unplugged" I can usually unplug it and plug it back in and re-establish the connection, annoying to say the least! Now I've tried all the posted ideas at both the Windows 7 forums and ASUS and both have quite a few folks with the same issue across several platforms but the most common being ASUS and Nvidia chipsets. I believe the bottom line is incompatible drivers, despite them saying Win7 ready! I believe I temporarily solved it by throwing in an old net-gear nic card that just barley fits under my GTX285. So I post this to give some fair warning to those who use ASUS and/or Nvidia chipset boards. The Windows 7 Forum has been the most helpful:http://www.sevenforums.com/network-sharing/
