Windows 7

Featured Replies

I loaded WIN 7 with my plan to set my system up for the MD 11. After I got the NVIDIA driver loaded I discovered to my horror that WIN7 will not support the horizontal and vertical span modes. I did some research on this and found out that WDDM 1.0 is the culprit. Microsoft has made a deliberate and calculated decision not to support these two modes even though they are successful in XP 32 and 64.Those of us in the FSX community who enjoy using two monitors spanned together as one have now lost this capability. Does anyone have any other information on this? What about the MD 11 development team weighing in on this?I thought this would be a good topic to post as many others may not know this.Don

I'm not sure what you want the development team to say - we obviously have no say in what MS and Nvidia do with their driver model.I know some people use the Matrox Triple Head 2 Go to do this sort of thing - maybe that would be an option?

I was just wondering if there was any documentation you knew of explaining why MS did away with this option.

All I can find is the same explanation - that it's no longer possible due to the changes in the driver model. This happened in Vista by the way, it wasn't Windows 7 specifically that did away with it.
