July 1, 200322 yr Beta Testers,Just wondering has the Poles bug been fixed in this version??? I remember there was a problem flying across the Poles in FS2k2. It seems your aircraft would go into warp speed and the sim would crash. Can you guys send some pictures of your flights there as well (maybe some northern lights can be seen)??? July 1, 200322 yr I haven't been able to reproduce the crash with the gold release, but I am sorry to say other aspects of pole "behavior" are still there. Start flying anywhere North of 75 deg, and the aircraft will look like it's crabbing over the ground. The Northern lights are as they are in FS2002. I can reproduce them easily by locating at Thule in Greenland, and just looking to the North for a bit.-John
July 1, 200322 yr Thanks John, wish I was on the Gold copy list...By the way I haven't had the chance to get back to you about my new Dell 2.6gig 8300. It runs FS2k2 almost flawless, the only problem is FS2k2. No matter what you do that sim will not give you the frames you would expect. I could care less about the frame counter as long as the sim is fluid and it is. I'm happy I can now enjoy my Simflyers KDFW. You will need to have at least 1gig of Ram installed to get the best performance with WindowsXP. Ram is not that expensive so it shouldn't be a problem. Well John I would highly recommend this upgrade (I'm sure you've already read the hype concerning the Dell 8300 being used with Flight Simulator. If you haven't go to Flightsim.com). July 1, 200322 yr "Just wondering has the Poles bug been fixed in this version???"I would not call this a bug. It's a limitation due to the way the world in FS is designed, not as a sphere, but more like a cylinder.Jozef http://www.dse.nl/~joker32/pictures/signature.jpg
