Flightaware flight plans

Good morning,Thanks to everyone who suggested checking the flightaware site. It is a great resource. For the most part I understand what everything means, but just a couple questions on programing. Here is a route from CYUL to CYEGYUL V352 J484 SASID 4700N 08000W 4830N 09000W 5000N 10000W REFEX J5151) so I know the first leg would be YUL via (direct)2) the V352 and J484 are airways/jetways. Would I put in SASID via (V352) then SASID via (J484) ?3) the 4700N 08000W 4830N 09000W 5000N 10000W I'm assuming are lat and long. How do they get entered into the FMC ?4) what happens when the last direction is a jetway (J515) ? Would it be CYEG via (J515) ?Thanks in advance.Cheers,Colin Gray

I love this stuff (I should have been a navigator in the AF).The Lat/Lon enteries have long form and short cuts, this should help: http://ops.precisionmanuals.com/wiki/FMC_WP_Entry_NotesThere needs to be a fix on J515 on which you exit to program this into the FMS. Check the charts and see if it goes through a navaid close to CYEG, that would be the obvious choice.Don't forget, the VIA goes on the left side and the waypoint on the right such that:DIRECT YULV352 xxxxx (you need to find the intersection fix name here)J484 SASIDDIRECT 4780N (see the link above for the explanation of this)ect.Of course, you don't enter the direct on the RTE page because it automatically puts it there if you just list the waypoints.You found an example of a flightplan that I could call into the FSS and get it into the system but if I was using a computer-based system like DUATS the missing fixes would have to be found.Hope this helps.

Here's a tip: The navdata file wpNavRTE.txt in the FMCWP/NAVDATA folder is the route data. You can search for V352 and see a list of its fixes and same for J484 whereupon you can find a fix that is common to both. I do this type of searching often because the only charts I use are US or Eurocontrol.
