AMD 6000+ to Phenom II X4

Recommended Posts

Two simple questions.1) Would it be a significant difference running FS9 with an AMD Phenom II X4, compared to an AMD Athlon X2 6000+ 3.1ghz? 2) Which one of the Phenom CPUs (i.e. clockspeed) do you recommend for FS9?Thanks

Yes. Phenom II is a good deal faster than the Brisbane core A64 X2 (what you have). Also they're pretty overclockable. However, if you're having performance issues in FS9 with your current system I wouldn't suspect lack of CPU power. Severe lack of GPU power or improper configuration would be the likely culprits there.

Thanks,I have an nvidia GTX 260, with nhancer, and my system is tweaked and optimized, so no problems here.

Just seems counter-intuitive for FS9 to perform so poorly, even with the relative lack of CPU power. When FS9 came out they dreamed of CPUs like yours.
