Having a problem with FSX and my addons

Featured Replies

I'm having a problem that some of you might be able to help with. To start I'll give you a list of my payware addons that I spent ALOT (probably too much money on):Running FSX with SP2.AddonsAircraft:LVLD-767ATR 72-500Airbus Vol 1 and Vol 2 Deluxe AircraftLegacy737-300 Pilot in CommandI also bought FS2Crew for the above aircraft as well.Scenery:Ground Environment X EnhancedUltimate Terrain USAReal Environment XtremeAirports:ImagineSim KIAD (Washington Dulles) FSXImagineSim KLGA (New York La Guardia) FSXBlueprint Simulations Cleveland, Dallas, and Raleigh AirportsTraffic:Just Flight's Traffic X (although I'm thinking of getting Ultimate Traffic 2 or My Traffic X instead)I have a few other minor ones like F1View, and Alan Constable Traffic Sounds Ultimate as well as a 3d lights addon as well. Here's my problem:Whenever I choose a plane whether its the 767, default 737 or 747, or even an Airbus plane upon going into my KIAD airport (addon i installed), the plane is placed practically inside a building. For instance, my plane is halfway morphed inside the building at my gate and it doesn't matter which gate I choose. It's almost like my planes are TOO big for the airport gate. Either that or my airports are smaller in size now due to the airport addons? Also sometimes when I first load into the airport, my plane has a Crash. I'm not talking about FSX crashing to desktop or something. I'm talking about as if my plane crashed into the ground. Very frustrating. Has anyone seen this type of behavior before after installing addons?Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm loaded into the game right now into KIAD (Washington Dulles) and my LVLD-767 is so huge that it's practically overlapping the gate all the way into the building terminal.I wonder if it's because of this ImagineSim KIAD airport addon that I have thats causing this. :(The LVLD 767 is pretty HUGE.

Hello there. First, I would turn off crashes in the flights/realism settings. I have not had them on in a long time. The way I look at it - if I crash I will know it and they seem to generate more false crashes than real ones.Second. Make sure you are choosing a heavy gate at IAD. You may want to switch the afcad/ade/afx file at IAD. I know Imaginesim has some updated ones on their website and I am sure there is one here at AVSIM..

Appreciate your help. :)I had the crashing setting on for more realism, but I"ll turn it off. As far as the aircraft not lining up at the gate correctly, not sure what happened but I uninstalled Traffic X, purchased and downloaded My Traffic X v5.2b and its not a problem anymore it seems.Very strange.

I was just getting ready to ask you if and where you have an AI program installed. The AI programs come with their own custom AFCAD's for hundreds of airports and, if the AI program is the last to load, it will override the AFCAD provided by Imaginesim. So, in the Scenery Library, you should have KIAD above any AI program addon. Or you can go into the AI Program folder, like MyTrafficX and click on the Scenery folder and rename MyKIAD.bgl to MyKiAD.orig. I'm glad you got your problem fixed. Jeff was right on with his suggestions.Best regards,Jim

Interesting stuff Jim.So basically what you are saying is lets say I have ImagineSim KIAD and KLGA airports, MyTrafficX, and Aersoft AES (Airport Enhancement Services), then my load order should be in the following order (just as an example):1. Aersoft AES (I think this add-on automatically requires it to be FIRST no matter what)2. ImagineSim KIAD3. ImagineSim KLGA4. MyTraffic XRight?

I don't have MyTraffic so forgive me if this doesn't make sense. From these two posts, it sounds like it comes with its own afcads and stores them in a separate scenery folder that is activated in the scenery library. You do not want to have multiple AFCADS for the same airport as it will cause problems. You should use Jim's suggestion of going in to the scenery folder where the Mytraffic AFCADS are stored and rename the ones for the airport where you are using add on scenery. The folder for the add on scenery should also contain an AFCAD. Once you rename the mytraffic AFCAD, the one intended to be used with the scenery will be loaded. The MyTraffic ones are only supposed to be used with the default scenery.Oh, it sounds like MyTraffic is ok. The same goes for the AFCADS anyway. You don't want multiple ones floating around.

Right! You have them in the right order but I don't have AES installed. I would check the AES folder and make sure it modified ImagineSim's KIAD/KLGA and not the default airports. Check to be sure they even modified or offer AES for those KIAD/KLGA as I don't think they cover every airport. If they do modify them, then you could run into problems as ImagineSim has their airport enhancements and Aerosoft has theirs. If conflicting, I would put KIAD/KLGA above AES and forget about the AES enhancements for these two airports. You might post something over on the Aerosoft AES forum to see what you can do to get the follow me trucks, airport personnel integrated with Imaginesim's airports (if applicable).Jeff has some good advice too about multiple AFCAD's although the last one read by the scenery.cfg is the one loaded into FSX. But it's always best to minimize the number of AFCAD's FSX has to load for just one airport.Best regards,Jim
