November 30, 200916 yr Does anyone know of any good snow effects add-ons, freeware or payware. preferably freeware. i need somthing that can get me white out conditions like a blizzard and there is actually a few inches of snow on the ground and the falling snow sticks to the ground and makes it deeper. is there an add-on like this because i love flying out of Toronto Pearson in a snowstorm, accept for the part where your flight is delayed by 4 hours! Plus is there somthing that you can add on so you can De-Ice the plane before takeoff??? that would be so cool!!!Thanks guys!
November 30, 200916 yr Nothing is available that would "dynamically" make the FSX winter world more realistic - that is, no blowing snow, better snow accumulation or such. We're stuck with what FSX has to offer. For static improvements you could try a payware texture package Natural World Winter - http://secure.simmarket.com/samoshin-natur...ld-winter.phtml remember you will need to uninstall these textures if you intend to fly anywhere in non-winter conditions. For deicing - Aerosoft AES does this at select airports. Not prior to takeoff though, but at the gate, and it's just eye candy anyway, no visible or actual effects on aircraft performance. Not sure if it supports any Toronto sceneries..
