FO volume problem
As far as I remember, the FO voice should be coming out of the right speaker (he sits to your right) unless the headset option is in use. All other sounds (??) come out of both speakers.See here for clarification: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/366990-fo-audio-issue/

FO volume problem
Maybe some problems with the right channel of your stereo speakers? Are all other sounds playing normally via the RIGHT speaker?

FO volume problem
Found it! My memory failed, it was only relevant to Radar Contact and FS2Crew working together. Just something similar to this problem. Sorry!http://forum.avsim.net/topic/367318-fs2crew-and-radar-contact-4/

FO volume problem
I'm sure I saw a topic on a similar problem just yesterday, but can't find it anymore :Hypnotized:The solution was to set Windows Speech to "do nothing" when a particular thing happens.. or something to that effect. Sorry, no idea what it was..

What procedures should NGX captain practice?
The only thing missing is GPS/RNAV approaches.

Any way to combine AES and FS2Crew ground crews?
I guess the sequence has changed then. That's all I can think of. You could try something else to that effect, like skipping greetings altogether or using the "no pushback" option.Btw, I thought AES was keyboard controlled. Wouldn't sending key presses work as a crude interface?

Don't have the NGX version, but if the dialogue has similar logic as the older 767 or 737 versions, you could just greet the ground crew, initiate pushback with AES controls, and once done, call the crew to disconnect and switch to taxi mode. Essentially just don't ask FS2Crew to start the push.

RELEASED! RELEASED! Your Crew for the NGX has boarded! ALL READ!
Congratulations Bryan and the whole team!I'd love to try it out but as you may remember, this poor unemployed pilot can no longer afford a new FSX computer. Oh poor me! Hope some kind soul will make a nice video showcasing the features of your all new flagship.

What is Microsoft Flight? A video "review" I made.
Kevin,Let me emphasize I really appreciate you making the video and it seems like a wonderful review! However, I may be asking the obvious, but is there any way you could edit out the music and reupload or did you simply record the whole thing as a single track?I was able to watch only ten minutes of it before my lid blew off. The music is really distracting and I'd really like to hear what you're telling us :Sigh:

FS2Crew Voice on separate PC?
Pax and cargo doors cannot be controlled from the cockpit in the real aircraft. There are indicators that show their status, but they are actually operated by other crewmembers or ground crew. The controls and mechanisms are on the doors themselves or under access panels in the case of cargo doors. That is why you often hear the captain call the crew on PA to "arm doors and crosscheck" or something similar at the gate.

Is this guy for real (Howard) leading ms flight
Why couldn't Flight also exist, without "dividing the community"?I like the idea of a completely hassle-free game of flying without all the setting up and planning. Just fire up the game and go. Does not make me any less a sim pilot or a real pilot. I can always go back to hc simming any time I want, there are other simulators for that.Hell, I even know some professional soldiers who like CoD or Battlefield 3 and they are still good soldiers! :(

Is this guy for real (Howard) leading ms flight
Here is a little bit of healthy sarcasm for ya.Based on 10+ years of experience on how a text based discussion forum operates is this:How to start an argument online?1. Express an opinion2. WaitForums are EXCELLENT for sharing information and finding answers to questions, and nearly useless for voicing out opinions. Reason being simply that fundamentals of normal human interaction like body language and social norms do not exist. As for Flight, I still think it is going to be a fun game where flying skills learned in FS or real world can be put to the test. It will never replace FS, just complement it. We will always have FS9/FSX for more serious simming.I can fully appreciate what the MS representative meant, he wasn't BS:ing anyone. Like others have said, the bland vanilla FS world takes a lot of imagination to be interesting and I find the concept of having a richly detailed smaller area with integrated missions a lot of fun. Isn't that why people buy addons like anything from ORBX?

Voice controlling the default ATC
JakobIt came to me that there used to be a freeware program called SuperATC which did exactly what you are asking for, control both default ATC and RC. You can see a video of it in action here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVX19AUCGjYUnfortunately it's not available anymore and I have no idea where you could get it.The video clearly demonstrates certain awkwardness which comes from the complexity of phraseology. Everything needs to be said in "chunks" and wait for voice recoqnition to pick it up before proceeding.

FS2 and Radar Contact
I think he was just looking for an ATC program that has no conflicts with FS2Crew. That's easy, if VoxATC is not an option, the only two left are Radar Contact and PFE 2000.Both work without conflicts with FS2Crew as far as I know. You can have the occasional stepping on each other in a way the FS2Crew FO speaks at the same time as the ATC program FO/controller as the programs are not aware of each other, but I never found that a big problem.

FS2 and Radar Contact
Why? What's the conflict?

Voice controlling the default ATC
I have a few thoughts on that.Firstly, I don't know if default ATC with all its oddities and sheer bugs is a very popular option among that part of the simulator crowd that buys high-end addons like FS2Crew. Realism in mind, it's really only useable in the US of A (voices and procedures). Personally I haven't used it for years. The phrases and responses required to control ATC would be in the thousands. Not sure about the current technology Bryan uses, but adding all that sounds like potential for misinterpretations of user commands.Technically, I'm not sure if ATC can be responded to via FSUIPC/Simconnect events without having the ATC window open. So you'd need to open the window each time to request something anyway. Finally, another realism point of view is that since FS2Crew can only simulate the role of the Pilot Flying, who does not handle communications, so having a co-pilot who does not handle ATC would be unrealistic. A realism compromise in a simulator is understandable, but with all the above mentioned technical hardship for a simple speech to key press -interface sounds like it's not worth it.Having said that, I really would like to see the "FO controls ATC" aspect, and I'm hoping to record an FO voice set for RC5 once it comes out. I'm the Euro voice for at least the iFLY and PMDG 737 versions of FS2Crew (can't even remember which ones I've done! :( )That way RC and FS2Crew voice sets would match, and since the RC FO can auto-control ATC, it would effectively sound like the FS2Crew FO is handling all ATC comms. I already did that with PFE 2000 for my own testing uses and it sounded really cool. Hope that doesn't sound too complex! It would not work with default ATC unfortunately, since it can't "auto-respond".

Real Pilot, maybe?
Taking the modular route starting from zero hours, you could decrease cost of training to 50-60k in Europe. But then you need a certain mindset and logistical skills, arranging schedules, choosing FTO's for each module.. etc. Also be prepared for long delays if FTO schedules don't match. My training took nearly three years altogether. Then again, going for one-stop integrated can easily set you back 100-120k PLUS expenses. Other than that, you're spot on.What is sickening is that self-funding your type rating and hours on it up to 500h is becoming a given. Another 50k and no guarantees. The only reason it happens is because there were, and are enough (IMO foolish) candidates that are willing to do it without blinking.
