December 1, 200916 yr Can someone more technical than me please offer some advice on the following?I have two Piper Seneca addons in FSX. I want to use one of them for IFR practice. I obviously need a good IFR panel and accurate flight dynamics. One of my Seneca addons has an excellent panel but poor flight dynamics when compared to the real aircraft we fly.The other Seneca has a poor panel but much better flight dynamics. Is there any way I can use the AIR file from the second Seneca with the other model which has the better panel?I did try swapping them round last night but it didn't seem to work very well :( AdamTrafficPilot Chillblast Core i5 14600KF Liquid Cooled RTX 4070 SUPER 32GB RAM. December 1, 200916 yr Author Hi DarkCharizmaThanks for the idea. I could try that but the "good panel" Seneca has some unique gauges and features so I think I'm going to go the difficult route and work through both aircraft.cfg's and try to get the flight dynamics sorted that way.CheersAdamTrafficPilot Chillblast Core i5 14600KF Liquid Cooled RTX 4070 SUPER 32GB RAM. December 1, 200916 yr Aircraft .cfg AND .air file combine to provide the flight dynamics so swapping air files is likely to give the poor results you have found. As you don't name the two different Senecas its difficult to proffer guidance, but you might want to use the search function as there was a copious discussion on the relative merits of a paywware Seneca only recently, and IIRC the topic included some aircraft .cfg revisions. If it's a payware model you are looking to `correct` then also try the developers themselves. After all they sold it to you on the basis of real-world replication...
December 1, 200916 yr Author Hi snave thanks for the reply. The two aircraft in question are the Carenado Seneca vs the Just Flight Flying Club X version.I have all the patches installed for the Carenado model (this was discussed previously in another thread re the handling and aircraft.cfg).It still has the annoying habit of slamming its nosegear onto the runway as soon as it lands even with full back pressure on the yoke regardless of the pitch trim setting or approach speed (and with C of G easily within limits..). The "real" Senecas we fly do not exhibit this kind of behaviour - if they did we'd go out of business with the cost of replacing the nose gear :( The Just Flight Flying Club X Seneca looks pretty poor in comparison but the handling in most phases of flight is (IMHO) much more realistic. It certainly allows you to hold the nose off with gentle back pressure - much like the real aircraft.Hopefully I'll be able to improve the handling once I've gone through the cfg file tonight.TrafficPilot Chillblast Core i5 14600KF Liquid Cooled RTX 4070 SUPER 32GB RAM.
