Help on laptop options (windows & graphics card)

Featured Replies

I am looking at laptops with both vista and win7 OS; vista advantage is they are discounted now of course. Also the graphics options run from 256 to 1G cards. I have not run FS on any kind of system in a couple of years, so any advice on the windows and graphics options to run it very smoothly (with add on airports and AI traffic) is appreciated.RH

Don't bother with Vista. FS runs so much better on Win 7. Load times are much faster and the sim just runs smoother imho. And Win 7 is just a superb OS all around. Trust me, its worth the extra bucks.

Thanks very much for the help; I'll go with Win 7. Any tips on minimum memory for graphics appreciated; I'm looking at a range from 256 to 1G on Nvidea and ATI cards with quite a price difference. I know I will have enough CPU and RAM (4 Gigs) so the card is the only variable I remain uncertain about as I have been away from FS for a couple of years.
