Win 10 full screen alt menu
No it works fine in Win 8.1. No issues whatsoever. It's just Win 10. If I don't find a fix I'll go back to Win 8.1. I just can't believe that after 7 months this isn't fixed. Win 10 is so buggy everywhere else too. It's one conuminous beta.

Win 10 full screen alt menu
I've installed Win 10 along with Fs9 on two laptops and 7 months later this still isn't fixed. The bug when you are in full screen and you it the alt key to bring up the menu and the whole screen goes dark, if you want to to get to the menu you have to go to windowed mode first. Well this just won't do. Especially if youre running FSNavigator. Win 10 basically breaks Fs9. Any fixes for thia? I'm going to cross post this in the FS9 so hope that's ok. I need to find an answer to this.

Need some suggestions
Hi all. Wow its been a long long time since I have been here on these forums. Anyway I've had FSX for many years now but have stuck with FS2004 since my laptop could never run FSX decently. I have a new laptop now, surprisingly a dual core Celeron 1.5ghz is running FSX very nicely at high settings. So I really want to get back into FSX.I just need some suggestions for the best freeware realistic world scenery. I'm also looking for some better sky textures and water textures. Anyway that will get me started. I'm doing some searching but i figure those here that have been here a while would be able to lead me in the right direction. Any other suggestions for a newbie I'm all ears. One thing I do notice is that SP1 runs better than SP2. The ground is a bit wavy in SP2 so think I'm going to stick with SP1.And don't laugh at my Celeron, I've always liked Celerons and this laptop runs great. I can run FS2004 at ultra high settings and still get 50+ frame rates. And at $278 it was a steal.Ok, thanks for any suggestions.

2 FS9.exe's and rundl32.exe when starting
I have a problem that has cropped up from time to time and the only way i can fix the problem is by reinstalling Windows. Everything is running fine and then one day I open FS and nothing happens. I open the task manager to see what processes are running and it says FS9.exe and a rundll32.exe which is eating up 100 percent CPU. Rundll32.exe never use to run before when all was fine. But now I open up FS9 and if i click on it again another instance of FS9.exe is there and rundll32.exe with CPU at 100 percent. Strange. I do a complete clean reinstall of FS and still the same. Only way to get the CPU down to normal is by ending the rundll32 process. I reinstall windows and all is fine. This happened a number of times for me. Strange. I am running WIN 7 Home premium on a 32 bit laptop (though it does it with 64bit as well). FSUIPC and FS navigator is the only real add-ons i have. Did a virus and Malware scan and found nothing. Anybody have a clue? Did a search and only found one thread with a solution about the games folder and not updating but that didn't work for me. Any help is appreciated as i'm tired of reinstalling Windows ever 3 or 4 months because of this problem. Oh yeah i've updated to 9.1 and running the no-cd exe. Thanks

Suggest me a panel.
Thanks but i don't think any of those are going to do it for me. I'll keep looking.

Suggest me a panel.
I'm in love with the excellent freeware PSPanels 737NG. Probably the best quality freeware panel I've seen. Anyone know of similar quality high res freeware panel for a 757? Maybe there is one out there i haven't found yet. Also I have a love of the old 727s. I know these aircraft are old and extinct now but it seems as every panel designer made the panels to look old and beat up. You know at one time the 727s were new. I would love to find a decent 727 panel that had a new just built look with that new airplane smell. A kind of panel that had the high res quality that the PSPanel has but with analog gauges. I think I'm dreaming here. I checked out Captain Sim's 727 and the AC look great but the panel not so great. I've done a lot of searching but Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Help on laptop options (windows & graphics card)
timkmco replied to cimgrp501's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcDon't bother with Vista. FS runs so much better on Win 7. Load times are much faster and the sim just runs smoother imho. And Win 7 is just a superb OS all around. Trust me, its worth the extra bucks.

Installing FS9 from A USB flash drive
Pretty easy to find. Google it!

Installing FS9 from A USB flash drive
- Installing FS9 from A USB flash drive
After a little research and a little help from opa I found the way to do it. Create a folder (I named it 'FS9 install' but you can name it whatever you like) on your desktop (or anywhere) and copy all the contents from CD 4 into it. Then copy CD 3, then 2, then 1 in that order and overwrite (copy and replace) any files Windows asks you to. To install FS9, click on the setup.exe in the folder and it will install FS9. Install FS9 update. Then find your no-cd patch, replace your FS9.exe and you are good to go. I also create a folder named (3rd party software) and add all my 3rd party software into it. So there you have it, your whole FS9 in one folder. You can put it on a USB or wherever you like or you can even burn it to a data DVD as it's less than 2gb. Now i can do away with those pesky 4 CDs. Also installs a lot faster than the CD install. Hope this helps someone besides me.- Installing FS9 from A USB flash drive
Is there a program out there that would let me take my 4 CDs of FS9 and make it into an installable program from a USB stick. I am thinking about buying a laptop that doesn't have a DVD drive so this would be my only way of installing without buying an external drive. I have owned the CDs for years so i don't give a crap what MS would have to say about it. It's only for my own personal use.Thanks- FSX startup time
>"Running vista premium with 1 gig ram. FSX takes forever to>load. Will upgrading to 2 gigs ram make fsx start up any>faster?">>I can not imagine running Vista on less than 2 gigs of RAM. >That must be painful.>>Yes it is painful. Personally I hate vista and would go back to XP if I could. FSX takes 2 minutes to get to the main screen and another 2 minutes to load a flight. Of course when you are sitting there waiting for it to load it seems longer. Is it worth it for me to spend $75 for 2 gigs of ram, more then the software costs, to maybe save a minute loading time? Some how I doubt it. I wonder if it takes this long to load in XP. I long for the days of XP and fs9.- FSX startup time
Running vista premium with 1 gig ram. FSX takes forever to load. Will upgrading to 2 gigs ram make fsx start up any faster? I find vista to be slow at start up and resuming. Seems the hard drive is always busy. Is it worth it to upgrade my ram?Thx- FS 2004 files...I'm amazed!
Just about as much reluctance as people with XP to transition to Vista. If it ain't broke, don't fix it mentality. I mean XP and FS2004 run hellava lot better than my FSX and Vista.- Lost my enthusiasm
Being able to fly like this would spark my interest again. Would take away the boredom.- why the price reduction on FSX?
Got my FSX standard today on sale at CC for only $14.95. FS2004 was higher at $19.95.Tim- Lost my enthusiasm
Well it's installed. I will say that my first impression is, hey, at least it isn't crawling. I fiddled a bit with the graphics and even running at currently low settings, it looks better than FS2004. I was afraid it was going to stutter. I've got some tweaking to do of course, and I guess I better download the patch. Some graphic anomalies to figure out such as, why is my mouse pointer black? and how do I get rid of the menu bar?... but I'm sure I'll figure all that stuff out. My biggest gripe is that it loads so slow but I'm running vista and I'm use to that, haha. I agree I think I will get into the VA community and do some online flying now that I got high speed wireless. Now, where's that darn logitech joystick of mine? Am I sounding enthused yet?Tim- Lost my enthusiasm
>Have you tried real flying? Maybe it's time to walk away>from the simulator and hit the real sky. I can tell you that>there are no jaggies in the scenery you see, the frame rates>are great, and the realism doesn't get better. What do you>think?>>Dave VegaActually I have flown a Cessna before. You're right, nothing compares. A bit expensive though, haha. Installing FSX as I write. We'll see if this baby will run on my laptop. I've got twice the minimums but something tells me it's going to crawl if I know my FS releases. I was a beta tester on FS2000. Talk about a crawl.Tim- Lost my enthusiasm
I've been a simmer since FS98 days. However over the last couple of years I've grown tired of the sim. To be honest I thought the sim would have been more realist 9 years later(I'm talking the flight experience). As far as realism, FS 2004 isn't all that more realist then FS98 except the scenery and let's face it, the scenery in FS2004 is still pretty cartoonish. I saw FSX standard on sale at circuit city today for $14.95. I'll pick it up. Do you think this will get me excited about simming again or is it going to feel like the same toy that's it's always been? I'll let you know. Maybe x-plane has a new version, that sim never had much in the scenery department but at least it always felt that you were flying. We'll see.Tim- Aircraft looks like it's always in the shade
oops, let's try that again. - Installing FS9 from A USB flash drive
