AIRAC 0908, LFPG, FS Build and confusion.

Featured Replies

Any frenchmen around here? I was planning a flight in the 744 from EGLL-LFPG. I used FS Build and generated a flight. FS Build gave me the DPE 4E Arrival (Dieppe 4 Echo) into LFPG. So I selected that ARRIVAL in the FMC, all was well right. I go onto the net to get charts for LFPG and I came across this site http://www.sia.aviation-civile.gouv.fr/htm...eset_aip_uk.htm you just put in the ICAO ident and the airport will come up and you can download the charts, which I did. When the download was finish I had 89 or so pages worth of stuff and not ONE of them had an arrival called DPE 4E. I am so confused, I'm looking the right spot arn't I?I like flying into EGLL JFK YYZ etc. The procedures are pretty straight forward, as long as you brief yourself through them before you go, but , I have never once in my FS carrer came across so much stuff in my life. How can I pilot sort through 89 pages of charts to find the right one? I hopr I'm doing something wrong here. Somebody familar with the area that could really help would be appreicated.O ya one last thing. AIRAC 0908 is kinda old, so unless the Elites at LFPG just changed all the procedures resently then they should be pretty close. Anyways thanks.

The current AIRAC to download at fsbuild.com is 0912 as far as the flight-planner goes.Unless you subscribe to Navigraph for FMC updates or use other sources the two plus your plates could be out of sync. The 63rd page lists the STAR DATA 01 waypoint DPE so I found that but I did not see it. I found RNAV7 on page 83 had your STAR transition of DPE with a label DPE 4E among others. DPE is a VOR. I don't know if an error is involved but RNAV7 is for jets and props. Page 84 has levels and speed restrictions for he waypoints involved. I think it is just updates causing confusion. Here's the link to those pages I found:https://www.sia.aviation-civile.gouv.fr/aip...3_AD-2.LFPG.pdfWithin the .pdf I searched for DPE and one of the results was DPE (DIEPE) 4E which took me to the accompanying text. A couple of page-ups took me to the chart. There must be a better way :) .Here's the link on the same site to airport diagrams and your instrument approach charts on the same site:https://www.sia.aviation-civile.gouv.fr/aip...3_AD-2.LFPG.pdfPages 29 and 30 have IAF MERUE from the STAR RNAV7 chart to closer in for the IAP first sections based on runway direction sets and then the individual runway IAPs follow on later pages.Messy, isn't it. Oh, and I'm not French but I like challenges. It was mostly brute force searching since the Acrobat search function doesn't do scanned charts.Clues are the arrival direction to get the RNAV STAR plus the expected runways for others. Most are collections are easier to navigate often split into multiple .pdfs with more meaningful pointers and titles.
