December 9, 200916 yr Is it possible to create a flight plan with various altitude thresholds set, and for this info to be used in autopilot mode. In other words at present I can create a flight plan but I have to set the initial climb altitude and then manually reset to a different altitude etc when I switch on the autopilot. I am looking for a way to almost autofly a complete flight.Any help or ideas appreciated
December 9, 200916 yr If you are referring to the default Flight Planner FSX ships with... No.The best way to achieve VNAV (Vertical Navigation) -- What you are describing -- Is with payware addons like PMDG, Level-D and others that model VNAV via the FMC/FMGC.There is an alternative, however. There are free Honeywell FMC panels you can download that do the exact same thing the payware addons do and are designed for the default planes in FSX:http://www.fs2000.org/index.php/downloads/...mc-by-honeywellThis one is designed for GA aircraft, but I've used it on the default 737 and done real routes (KSFO to KSEA) and it works perfectly in VNAV as long as you adjust the speed and altitude restrictions to correspond to real world charts. The only difference when using a freeware FMC like this is the VNAV is controlled with the default VS (Vertical Speed) versus VNAV Speed, or VNAV Path modes real airliners use to calculate and maintain the VNAV profile.
