Error in the Landing and taxi lights

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,Since a while, I have a strange problem on my MD-11 for FSX. It used to work fine and everything looked great. Then, when I installed some liveries that I had downloaded from the PMDG website the wing lights and landing/taxi lights went crazy. I have made 3 screenshots to illustrate what it does.First of all, the lights at the end of the wings are blue, all 4 of them. Even with my little knowledge of airplanes I know that its incorrect that they look like that. Then the landing and taxi lights, those lights have suddenly decided it would be best to iluminate the ground a few hundred meters in front of the aircraft. (Look at the screens to see what I mean) I have got this problem at every livery I use. I had to save the screenshots as a JPG so I could upload them. That drasticly reduced the quality of the image but you can still see what it does. How did this happen? I am not sure what livery caused the troubles, It could be the KLM one but it could also be the AA one. For your info: I use FSX and have Vista64. I use REX2.0 and MyTraffic.Any help is much appreciated!Tiemen,

In Rex2.0, under the options tab, under "Light Themes", uncheck "aircraft strobe" and "landing lights" and then save the configuration. All people who have reported problems such as yours are using third party light addons.

I tried that but no luck. It still looks the same, doesnt matter if I start the game up with or without REX2. Tiemen,

You may have to run the "Restore Backup" in rex, because changing the option alone still leaves the lights installed as they were. Run the restore backup, then do "Install Textures" with the options for lights off as mentioned above by Vin.

Ah, of course! That worked like a dream. Thanks to both of you. :-)Tiemen,
