Advise on a PC system

Oh B.S. Been running nouthing but AMD for years with zero problems and great performance. started out simming with a Z80. Group of us simmers all switched to AMD in the late 80's.
It's not b.s, you can see numerous threads on this forum from AMD users that have had many issues using AMD graphics cards with FS9/FSX. Flashing menus, anyone? Reduced performance flying through clouds also comes to mind. If you read my original post carefully, you'll notice that I said the OP *may* experience issues, but there are plenty of people that never do. Bottom line is it's a crap shoot and I cautioned against taking the chance. Go with the known quantity of Intel + Nvidia if MSFS is the only performance intensive app. on your PC.
Take the money savings between Intel and AMD and invest it in upgrades instead of giving it to Intel's advertising department! Do you really know "whats inside"?
I have nothing against AMD or their products, I used to be a hardcore AMD fan. At the end of 2005/beginning of 2006 I built a $7000 all-AMD PC with an Opteron 175 and dual X1900's. I would love to have an all-AMD system again, but it's just too bad that AMD is uncompetitive at the high-end in the CPU market and their GPUs just aren't the best for what I use my GPUs for, which are a few specific titles for which Nvidia's cards are simply better. I learned a couple things from that experience: 1) $7000 is way too much to spend on a single PC2) it doesn't pay to be a a really excited user (limited choices)Since then I've built a couple machines. The one you see in my sig, and the one which it replaced and relegated to backup duty (a 4GHz Core 2 Duo E8400, 8800 GTS 512 volt-modded & massively overclocked, 4GB DDR2, etc.). Between the two I've spent perhaps 2 grand, and have had far less trouble with either system as opposed to the constant tinkering I had to do to *try* to get games to work properly with Crossfire. Switching over to Intel + Nvidia has given me more performance, more stability, and even more overclockability. These are all highly desirable factors, for me especially.
