January 21, 201016 yr I just switched from WinXP/FS9 to Win 7/FSX.I have never had a problem editing aircraft.cfg files in FS9.When I try to edit them in FSX I get an "Access Denied" message. All the FSX folders seem to be "Read Only" and will not allow me to change the attributes. What do I need to do to edit the FSX aircraft.cfg files?Thank you

January 21, 201016 yr Moderator Actually, all you really need to do is to set the Permissions for your FSX folder (and all sub-folders) to allow "Full Access."From Windows Explorer, select your FSX main folder name in the left-hand "tree list" and right click to open the Properties dialog. In this dialog, select the Security Tab, then select your UserName and set "Full Access" and "Apply to all sub-folders." Click on the "Apply" button. Now you should be able to load, edit and save any file... Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
