Well,I get "invalid file name" error when I try to convert my gif texture to mip using Rob's Fixmip tool. I found some of my old notes and was sure I could still get it done. Attached is the day texture I am trying to convert. Hi Jim,FixMip can read 1 special version of GIFs only.a GIF saved by paint, photoeditor, irfanview and many other tools is not readable by fixmip.You can edit with any of the above tools but then you must load the gif file into GIMP and just save it back - do not use transparency feature by irfanview or GIMP or fixmip will not load it ! A simple save of the GIF using GIMP is the solution or use the MAKEMIP.exe utility with it you can ever convert bmp and tga to mip :-).For color corrections and transparency fixmip is a must, palette entry for the transparency can be found by irfanview or gimp as 246, I used this for the conversion.For the fu3 model, don't forget to named the mip file starting with t_ to activate transparency and name format 8.3 is a must, so may be t_atwe01.mip is a good choice !! Thank you Andre,I used psp to make the image. I'll get familiar with Gimp and get comfortable with it. Here is a shot from Fled. I'll need to down-size it for sure, and maybe add 2 more surfaces to give it a more rounded appearance.jimb
