January 25, 201016 yr After a Hard Disk failure, and for many moons not having had the time to use FSX, I'm trying to relearn and reinstall the programs I used so often. Long ago I used "FSBuild" but it became unsuitable when I needed Plans suitable for export to the FMC of the more sophisticated airliners such as those in the PMDG hanger. Then (I think) I used "Route Finder".After all this time I assume much has changed with new and better Planners that are perhaps now available. I'd sure appreciate guidance about which Flight Planner to now consider.Cliff

It can be a major pain to setup, though, and navdata updates are not as frequent as they used to be.I find most of the routes that I use in vRoute. Flightsim Commander can generate routes, if that is the sort of capability you are looking for. I should have mentioned that.Cliff

I should have mentioned that.CliffFSCommander is excellent if you like building your own flighplans. It has a feature that shows you all available SIDS/STARS, and will download weather information so you can determine the most likely runways you will be assigned.vRoute is a great database of routes. Some are those that are used by real airliners. It is also great on fuel planning, and prints out a nice flight progress report, and you can output the flight plan straight into PMDG's FMC, as well as a slew of other add-on aircraft.I highly recommend both FSC and vRoute. I've used and liked both Vroute and FSCommander and will now trythem again. My thanks to you both.Cliff
