What ever happened to Brian Quayle?

Featured Replies

Ive been into this hobby since Sublogic FS2 for the C64, but back in 95/96 a guy named Brian Quayle made a 737, 727, 757 and DC-9 for Flight sim 5 that was second to none at the time. While all other planes were very blocky and hardly looked like what they were supposed to be, his planes were extremely accurate for the time. I often think of him as the father of the really detailed flight simulator planes. He contributed a lot to the hobby at the time. Just wondering if anyone knows if he is still into this hobby or does he work for any addon developers today.Rob

Rob,I've been around since FS98 but don't remember him as I only did props, helicopters and vehicles in FS98. But Andre Lederer, who does dynamics for FS98 aircraft, just uploaded a B727 model (01-23-2010) that is by Brian Quale (and Rafael Hidd ,his partner). He might be able to enlighten you. He does not add a contact email for Brian in readme. But, he might know. He is in Germany, of course. Brian seems to be from California. Hidd seems to be from Brazil. That's all I got thru search. Interesting as the models are still around for FS98. His models won't work in FSX. Not without major re-fitting (like a complete new model-hehe). The old guys were good (Chris Lampard, etc). Really good.CBNapamule

Weren't Brian's planes part of Project Freeware?John
