February 25, 201016 yr I can't figure this one out: I can clearly see wakes being made by watercraft, yet when flying down to close to see there is nothing present in the water as the wake continues on by itself. Am I missing something or is this considered normal? I'm still a noob when it comes to the subtleties of FSX. I'm running FSX SP2 with UTX USA and REX 2, see below for my system spec. Thanks for reading. February 25, 201016 yr Wild guess, but do you have the DX10 preview checked in the settings? Wonder if it's causing the stealth boat traffic?
February 25, 201016 yr Author I only run DX9. The DX10 preview has way too many problems to justify its use IMO. March 1, 201016 yr Author Problem solved. The issue was installing FSX on windows7. Turns out if I install FSX to the default "Program Files(x86)" install directory, the SP1 install would cause watercraft to disappear. Got around this by installing to a different drive as recommended, though I imagine that installing FSX to the C: drive would be OK as long as the install folder is NOT "Program Files(x86)" or "Program Files". Note that I have an ancient Deluxe release of FSX that requires SP1 and SP2; this may not be an issue for the more recent Gold release. Enjoy, TFM.
