February 26, 201016 yr Not much more to say. I love the idea of voice recognition combined with Radar Contact. Has any tried it? Thoughts? Thanks - Doug=== From AVSIM.COM ===Multi-Crew Experience V2.0 ReleasedPosted: Saturday, February 20, 2010 - 0:45It is now more than a year since Multi Crew Experience, voice control add-on to FSX and FS2004 was been released. The FS++ team is pleased to announce the release of Version V2.0 of their award winning add-on.This release allows you to create your own commands and more. Also, support for radar contact ATC voice interaction has been added.MCE is a speech based add-on that allows the flight sim enthusiast to fly those heavies in a more realistic way. Issue commands to co-pilot, go through the checklist, etc... You can also interact with the native FS ATC entirely by voice. There is more to this add-on than meets the eye. A fully working, time limited demo, is available for download.
March 1, 201016 yr Anyone?I hope I did not offend anyone here...just looking for some input.I had the 7 day trial of VoxATC and decided not to go that route. Sounds like RC4 (and the coming RC5) is the way to go but for voice response, I was going to try Radar Contact with MCE. Has anyone given this a try? Thanks
March 1, 201016 yr As with SuperATC (a separate freeware part of It's Your Plane), topic pinned above, a speech recognition application converts your spoken phrase to virtual keystrokes that trigger the RC4 menu. They usually provide an editable template for the keystrokes assigned. As usual, your RC key assignment mapping is adjustable to avoid interfering with other keyboard actions from FS and other add-ons so you might have to change the preset template if the RC4 key assignments need to be changed. As far as the co-pilot or other speech interfering I don't know what mechanism MCE uses. RC plays through the regular wave input of your Windows mixer, not via FS's sound facilities. If MCE uses the same facility you might get audio blocking during an RC ATC call or simultaneous play if MCE plays through the FS mixer.Normally in RC with Play Pilot Wavs set in options, when select something where a pilot talks to ATC, you'll hear the pilot's voice calling or replying. If you turn off the Play Pilot Wavs option you will not hear the pilot's reply when you ack an ATC item such as repeating the clearance. These choices are for the pilot only and do not affect ai chatter. You'll have to decide if you don't want to hear pilot (i.e. a voice acting as you) replies. You might query on their support forum for user experience.I don't use either one so I can't answer that question.
