July 30, 200322 yr I have an old gameport yoke that's not the best but serves the purpose until I can afford USB. I would like to purchase a set of CH pedals though but not sure whether or not to go with the USB or gameport model. Do I have a choice seeing as the yoke I have is gameport?(USB vs. Gameport device compatibility....driver issue's, etc.?)Thanks
July 30, 200322 yr The web site says you cannot mix USB and gameport stuff. However, I have a gameport yoke and pedals, with a USB flightstick plugged in. I can use any or all at once. So, who knows? You may have to borrow a unit and try it out for yourself.
July 30, 200322 yr Hi, Arby.I would get an USB, now you may not be able to buy a new Gameport rudder anyway. If you can get it, you can use a Converter to USB, about $18.00 from RShack and use your Yoke and Rudder on USB. Some of the buttons may not work in USB mode. TV
July 30, 200322 yr Hi,USB is definitely the best. It gives you toebrakes (like in real) and more stability. Gameport pedals can also be set up for using toebrakes but that requires a USB adapter (mentioned before) and will make the pedals a little more sensitive for static electricity.Final argument: if you're going to buy a USB yoke (and i would, the CH yoke with three levers is wonderfull) it's better to go for the USB pedals. As my dad used to say: if you spend money spend it well....Cheers,Cas
