In the last two months, everytime I start Active Sky, I get the message "AS has updated your FS wx station list file." I am then asked to reboot FS if it is running. I see no evidence of any wx station list being updated. What is causing this and is there a way to get it stopped? ASv6 stll is working fine, but this is a bit annoying.Thanks.Roy

Hi,Make sure you are signed in under the Administrator account and make sure the Application Data folder is still marked as both Read and Write enabled.

I am signed in under the Administrator account and the Aplication Data folder is enabled for both Read and Write, so this is not the problem.Roy

Hi,What is the reported size of your wxstationlist.bin file?
First, I should have asked this question earlier. Why do you ask to assure the Appication Data folder is read/write? There are no weather files in that folder. The wxstationlist.bin file is located in two places on my computer, in the Flight Simulator 9/weather directory and in the Microsoft Flight Simulator X/weather directory. For the FS9 directory, the size is 24 kb; for the FSX directory, the size is 25 kb. The last modify date on the one in FS9 is 2002; the last modify date on the one in FSX is 2006, so neither has been updated since created.Roy

Jim,Thanks for clarifying this for me. The wxstationlist.BIN file for fs9 is 26 kb; the one for fsx is 27 kb. The modify dates do show modifications on the dates I used ASv6 for each of the sims. So why do I get this message when I never used to get it?Thanks.Roy

Hi,Because AS does not have write privileges to that folder or somewhere in that folder path.
