Should I upgrade my video card?

Featured Replies

All- Thanks in advance for the opinions....I recently picked up a 25" Samsung Tv/Monitor and I was wondering if it's time to upgrade my video card. I am running an AMD X4 940 BE with 4gb RAM and a 8800GTS 512mb XFX card and play FSX on full HD resolution. OS is Win 7 Ult 64bit. Within FSX I run REX 2, GEX, MyTraffic X, various add-on airport sceneries and MegaScenery. Should I pickup a new video card? Will I obtain better graphics, less stutters, etc? If so, which one would give me the best bang for the buck.

Even getting a 9800GT with 1gb from 8800gt 512mb will help on that res with addons. Made game smoother and faster loading textures.

I just installed a XFX Radeon 5850 Black Edition. So far I believe the colors are a bit richer but FPS seem to be similar. I believe I may reinstall OS and FSX to shake things out....
