March 4, 201016 yr I'm just having fantastic flight experiences with PNW! I flight planned a run from Vancouver, B.C. to Klamath Falls, Oregon. ATC assigned me 11,000 ft in cruise. I'm presently about 40 minutes out from Vancouver at my cruise altitude.PNW looks as real and fantastic at 11,000 feet as it does at 3,500 ft. This ONE purchase has completely changed FSX beyond words. I feel rather spoiled, and might have to wrench myself out of PNW's grasp to take flights in the rest of the world. ORBX's PNW has absolutely set the bar and spoiled me to the 9's.Back to the flight, dusk is just settling in, and the world below is amazing to watch as the city and town lights begin to show through.I had an issue with BUFFERPOOLS set to '0' in that REX2's 4096 clouds sucked the Vram to death, and I artifacted out within about a half hour into my flight. Creating Bufferpools with a setting of 500000 has completely eliminated any artifacts and barely a stutter shows itself. I'd say that running with BUFF at 500000 takes you to the FPS and stutter-free performance of BUFF=0 at about 98 percent of the '0' setting...but with the absolute advantage of a totally stable FSX until you yourself end the flight...and NO ARTIFACTS of any kind.Post Edit: I forgot to mention that I am running FSX.exe in Vista SP2 mode and have steady 30 FPS, with no apparent degradation of performance.Post Edit 2: Yeppers....BufferPools set to 500000 is the ticket! With a 1 GB vid card, this setting will give you no stutters and solid crash/artifact-free FSX performance. I'm sticking with it.Cheers!Mitch
