Do you have to have the 4th disc in to run? 2004

Featured Replies

I used the express install first and had to use the cdrom to run. I then deleted the program and started over by going into custom install and choosing the full install. I thought this would make it go without the cdrom, but it's still asking for it.Any suggestions? Thanks,Matt

Matt, the full install still requires the 4th CD to start the sim. You can remove it once the sim has started and it is not needed again unless you must do a restart. You found out that the express install requires the 4th CD to not only start the sim but it is also reqired to run the sim.The best solution is to somehow acquire the no CD version of the FS9.exe file and simply replace that executable file. It works well and no CD is required to either start the sim or to keep it running when all the scenery (it's on that 4th CD) is written to your hard drive.Regards,

Hey, thanks fellas! Doesnt sound too hard, I'll just have to do some searching for the .exe file. Thanks again,Matt

Matt - Check the FS2004 forum at www.flightsim.com . There are numerous links there to the No_CD patch. (Forum rules won't let me post it here).Doug
