Help with hat switch on my Saitek Aviator / AV8R

Featured Replies

Hey all,I'm making this post because I bought the EZdok EZCA program and I found out that I can't completely disable the hat switch on my Saitek Aviator for some reason. As part of the EZCA setup, you need to completely remove any hat switch assignments from the FSX control options because EZCA takes over view panning from FSX. I cleared out any joystick assignments there (including, of course, the View (pan) which had been set to my hat switch). However, when I press the hat switch, the view does not pan anymore, but it still "snaps" / resets my view to looking straight ahead, in any view. Thus, I have a problem in EZCA, whenever I use the hat to pan the views around, when I release the hat, the camera briefly flickers back to "look straight ahead" then back to where it should be.I have tried clearing out every single assignment in the "Views" subsection of the controls in FSX, but the hat still resets the view whenever I touch it.Any idea how I can completely disable the hat switch in FSX?Thanks in advance!

I finally got it working. It appears to be a bug within FSX (and possibly this particular joystick) - I got around it by deleting the View (Pan) assignment, then reassigning it back to the joystick hat, but before I cleared it again, I set the "Repeat" slider to zero, THEN cleared the assignment again.Works like a charm now!

UNBELIEVABLE! I have been fine tunning my system and FSX for days after reformat. Trying to trouble shoot this Ezdok/FSX problem as i finalize things.

I Searched endlessly on "How To Fix FSX Ezdok hat switch view bug glitch twitch". I searched and searched and searched. I then got mad and searched "How to disable hat switch FSX" because i was fed up. In doing so, I found this EXTREMELY Helpful hardware related thread which seems to be considered against the topic rules!

Doing what you said fixed my particular problem; The Hat viewing no longer twitches and Glitches around the screen. Particularly, Doing what you said fixed my issue with Ezdok hat switch viewing.

I am using a T Flight Hotas X Joystick. I assume this is a problem within FSX! Wish i could tag this for google's record. Awesome! Thanks AVISM, and Thanks Molleh!
