March 15, 201016 yr so,you want to set up a VA but you only know which planes it'll use?Good luck finding someone willing to sign over their idea and letting you use it as it was yours.Start brainstorming, form an idea, have a plan, people will follow people with a plan, and they'll never follow someone that cannot tell where they are going and is dependant on others to guide him along.I really think you would be better off joining a VA just to see the amount of work that goes into such a venture. One tip : do not use a freebie website.JP.
March 15, 201016 yr I agree.Running a successful VA is a lot of hard work (and also very awarding). If you can't even come up with your own ideas, including logos, graphics, etc. then I am not sure you will be very successful.Take the time to get all the design stuff done first including livrery, logos, graphics, and do some research to see if there is really an interest in the type of VA you are planning. If it has already been done a thousand times over, chances are that when you do open, you may not get many interested pilots.Take the time to plan it all out. VATSIM: P2 | I1
March 15, 201016 yr I've been doing this a very long time (14 years), and not to be insulting but it sounds like you're not ready for a VA. I echo the advise of the other posters in saying join a VA that uses the aircraft you're interested in and in the region you wish to fly in. As an aircraft livery designer and painter myself I wouldn't want to spend my time doing aircraft for an VA that wasn't fully organized. As far as pilots are concerned good luck there. Most are like yourself; they would rather be a VA owner than a pilot, and with the relative ease in creating a VA now there aren't enough to go around. Getting 5 is an accomplishment, 10 I would consider a coup. Being on VATSIM isn't necessarily a measure of success, only that you meet their entry standards. Keep trying, don't give up, but try a little longer as a pilot with GB based VA to get used to how things work.
